Athlete of the week achievement: Weaver won his fourth District 6 championship with a pin of Central Mountain’s Patrick Tarantella in 2:37 and was selected as the District 6 3A meet’s Outstanding Wrestler.
Season update: Weaver is 32-5 this season and 147-25 in his career.
Coach Joel Gilbert’s quote: “Braiden has been a straight hammer all four years at Altoona. He is not only one of the best in the district but one of the best in the state. His dedication to being the best wrestler in the state is constantly on display as he puts the pedal down and is always looking to score points. The Altoona staff is very proud of Braiden, and his accomplishments this weekend, becoming only one of five wrestlers from Altoona to ever win four district titles and bringing home the Outstanding Wrestler Award.”
