Athlete of the week achievement: Bandstra won the 100 breaststroke District 6 individual title in 1:06.06. She was also part of district champion teams in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. She also won a silver medal in the 200 IM. Her performance helped Hollidaysburg win the overall team title for the second year in a row.
Season update: Bandstra’s best time in the 200 IM is 2:16.39, and her best time in the 100 breaststroke was her district-championship winning time of 1:06.06.

She is a fierce competitor, dedicated in practice, a loyal teammate and all-around fantastic young lady. She certainly left an impression at her District 6 championship debut. Swimming to one silver medal in the ladies 200 IM with a personal-best time and a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a personal-best time. She was also a member of two first-place finish relay teams in the 200 medley and the 200 free. Well done young lady, well done indeed.”
