Athlete of the week achievement: Smith won five events at the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference championships and set meet records in three of them. Individually, she won the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events. She also was part of the winning relay teams in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay as well as the 4X100 IM mixed relay. Earlier in the week, she won the 100 and 200 freestyle and both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay in a victory over Clearfield.
Season update: Smith set her best high school time of the year in the 200 and a personal best in the 100 at the LHAC meet and will take part in the District 6 meet in February.
