Athlete of the Week: Penn Cambria’s Brady Jones steps up his game

Athlete of the week achievement: Jones was 11-for-20 and threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns to help Penn Cambria defeat Brockway, 27-0, in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A playoffs. Jones also had two tackles for loss, including a sack, defensively and kicked three extra points and had an average of 41 yards per punt.

Season update: Jones has completed 113 of his 191 passes for 1,863 yards and has 22 touchdowns to just six interceptions. He's also rushed for 544 yards and nine touchdowns. As a kicker, he's made 32 extra points and has a punting average of 34.6 yards per punt.

Coach Jason Grassi's quote: "Brady had a tremendous season for us this year at the QB position, but he has taken his game to another level throughout the playoffs. He is a true competitor who has played a lot of playoff games in his career. His poise and confidence has shown during these playoffs."
