Athlete of the week achievement: Gibbons hit the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning for Hollidaysburg in its 3-2 win over Penn-Trafford in the PIAA Class 5A quarterfinals. Gibbons also hit the go-ahead two-run double for the Golden Tigers in a 4-2 win over Franklin Regional in the first round of the state playoffs while catching both games.

Season update: Gibbons was batting .265 with a home run, two doubles and eight RBIs through 18 games. He's also caught a pitching staff that had a collective 2.84 ERA going into the state playoffs.

Coach Jon Szynal's quote: "Cayden has been the right man in the right spot this week. We preach to our players how having a good offense is not always about batting average and having a good offense is so crucial. Cayden came up big, not trying to do too much, got pitches he could handle and trusted his hands."
