Relaxed DeLattre still soaring

2 min read

Name: Caden DeLattre

School: Hollidaysburg Area

Age: 18

Grade: Senior

Sport: Track and field

Athlete of the week achievement: DeLattre broke his own school record by winning the triple jump in the Altoona Igloo Invitational with a leap of 46 feet, 7.75 inches. He also placed fourth in the long jump.

Coach Adam Ulery's quote: "Although Caden continues to work very hard, he has taken a more relaxed approach to track this season. As a result, he's much more calm and confident. He knows what it takes to compete with the top athletes from his past experiences, and it becomes more evident each time he steps on the track. I feel he's really trying to enjoy his senior year. He's also taken on the role of one of our team leaders and mentor for some of our younger jumpers. It's been truly enjoyable to watch him as he has matured into the athlete he's become. As a coaching staff, we're excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.''
