Athlete of the week achievement: Fries helped Altoona defeat State College, 3-2, and had 14 service points, 15 kills, 14 digs and two aces.

Season update: After starting the season 2-0 with wins against Central and State College, the Mountain Lions head into this week with matches against Cumberland Valley and Chambersburg on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

Coach John Saboe's quote: "Noah is an outstanding student-athlete who works so hard to be the best player in the gym. Every year he has grown and developed in the game of volleyball, and as a senior, Noah has become a great all-around player whose performance against State College helped to propel us to victory.''

Proudest athletic achievement: "Defeating Central at their place in my sophomore year. They were undefeated late in the year and had an amazing team, but we were able to beat them and celebrated with ice cream afterward.''

How I got my start in volleyball: "My twin brother, Caleb, went to an open gym by himself my freshman year. After raving about it when he got home, I gave it a try the next week and fell in love with it.''

Future goal: "I plan on attending Duquesne University in hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster.''
