Sport: Softball

Athlete of the week achievement: Cavender struck out 11 and walked none in leading Claysburg-Kimmel to an 11-1 win over Glendale. She also added two hits. Later in the week, she struck out nine, threw a one-hitter and led the Lady Bulldogs to a 13-0 win over Southern Fulton. At the plate, she had three hits and two RBIs.

Season update: Cavender is batting .700 with three triples and two doubles through five games. In the circle, she's 3-0 with an 0.82 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 17 innings.
