Wyland shows off athleticism

Athlete of the week achievement: Wyland threw for 103 yards on 8-of-10 passing and ran the ball 19 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran in a conversion to Help Hollidaysburg open the season with a 21-13 victory over Altoona. It was the Tigers first win over Altoona since the 2020 season.

Season update: The Golden Tigers are off to a 1-0 start after winning just two games last season and hit the road to play Allegany, Md. this week.

Coach Homer DeLattre's quote: "He's a generally very athletic individual, so it was great to see him be able to make plays out in space. In his first start, he did a great job running the football and mixing in the passing game. He had a great start to the season, and we're looking forward to him progressing."
