2 min read

Name: Kade Sell

School: Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic

Age: 17

Grade: Sophomore

Sport: Baseball

Athlete of the week achievement: Sell went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs and was the winning pitcher, striking out four and allowing no earned runs, in a 14-3 win over Harmony in the District 6 Class 1A championship game.

Season update: Sell is hitting .295 with 22 RBIs, four doubles and a home run for the 16-7 Marauders, who will open play in the PIAA playoffs against DuBois Central Catholic today.

Coach Tommy Williams' quote: "Nerves always play a factor, but he settled down after the first inning and kept them off balance. We knew that their pitcher coming in was going to be throwing a lot of breaking balls, and we told them to stay back. Kade put the ball in play and went 4-for-4. He's a great athlete. He hits No. 4, because he puts the ball in play, but he can hit for power too."
