Athlete of the week achievement: Berkhimer won the District 6 Class 1A individual championship with a time of 19:33.7 in Reedsville on Saturday.

Season update: Berkhimer, who finished second at the LHAC championships and recently won the Blair-Huntingdon County Day event, will participate in next week's state championship race in Hershey.

Coach Lacey Ceschini's quote: "All of the parents, teachers, athletes and friends of cross country are so proud of Lanee's performance, not just in districts, but through the entire season. Lanee started her season in fantastic shape, she conditioned long before the season under the guidance of her father. Lanee's improved her PR consistently. Lanee is managing the pressure of being a freshman with this much talent. She's an excellent athlete, and we can't wait to see how she is able to perform in states."
