NBC freshman has big night

School: Northern Bedford

Athlete of the week achievement: Bowers had a key interception just before halftime to help keep Northern Bedford in the game, and then caught two touchdown passes in the second half of the Black Panthers' 35-22 PIAA Class 1A first-round victory over Reynolds. Bowers finished with four catches for 129 yards, had one carry for 22 yards and also handled the punting duties, and helped pin back Reynolds several times.

Season update: Bowers has a team-high 28 catches for 573 yards and seven touchdowns. He also leads the Black Panthers with six interceptions.

Coach Garry Black's quote: "Aaron came up huge for us in big spots on Friday night. When you go back and look at it, all four of his catches were incredible and showed how much of a playmaker he has become for us. His punts also pinned Reynolds deep several times, and that kept us on their half of the field."
