BELLWOOD -- The Central Cambria boys and girls cross country teams each won twice in a tri-meet with Bedford and Bellwood-Antis in high school competition Tuesday.
The CC boys defeated B-A 15-50 and Bedford, 17-42, while the Bisons got past Bellwood by a 23-32 score.
The Central Cambria girls upended Bellwood-Antis 15-50 and Bedford by a 20-42 difference, while the Lady Bisons beat the Lady Blue Devils by a 22-35 score.
Dom Kuntz from the Red Devils with a first-place finish in 17:30, while teammates Ethan Haycisak, Derek McConnell and Reed Takacs came in 2-3-4.
Chloe May of Bedford claimed the girls race in 19:38, while the Lady Red Devils had Abigail Sheehan finish second in 20:52 and was followed by Paige Alexander, Keira Link, Alaina Long, Alaina Sheehan and Ruth Remillard. Blake Pennington finished 10th for Bellwood.

Tigers take title
HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Hollidaysburg captured the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference East Division title in girls high school tennis play by sweeping its way past Central, 5-0, in both matches of a doubleheader.
Crosby Denis, Grace Muriceak and Emma Moritz won two singles matches apiece, while the teams of Olivia Panaro-Sarah Neatrour and Sarah Urban-Katie Klingner came out on top in both doubles matches for the Lady Golden Tigers.

LEWISTOWN -- Altoona swept all five matches en route to a 5-0 victory over Mifflin County.
Skylar Irwin, Andie Adams and Emma Hovan logged singles wins, while the teams of Kaylee Swain-Orlana Dent and Mary Worley-Madison Marketta came out on top in doubles play.

A Red Devils sweep
EBENSBURG -- Central Cambria captured a doubleheader sweep of Tyrone with a 5-0 victory in a rain make-up match, and then a 4-1 win in the regularly-scheduled one..
For the Lady Red Devils, Marley Ratchford and Lydia Paskowski won twice, while Taryn Ream and Allie Morgan earned one singles win each.
Morgan teammed up with Maddie Dietz for a doubles win, while the teams of Daisy Smith-Kat Kubat and Ream and Dietz also earned victories for CC.
The doubles team of Jenna Watson-Jamis Maceno picked up the lone win for the Lady Golden Eagles.

Mustangs place third
STOYSTOWN -- Portage shot a 222 to finish in third place behind winner West Shamokin (196), Conemaugh Township (209) and just ahead of Northern Cambria (224) in high school boys golf play at Oakbrook Golf Course.
The Wolves' Alex Talmadge and Gunnar Shoop as well as the Indians' Ben Steinbeck took medalist honors by tying with 36.
Jonah Irvin led the Mustangs by carding a 42.

Altoona takes two
BLAIRSVILLE -- The Altoona girls golf team shot a school record 291 to beat River Valley by four strokes and Central Cambria by 15 at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course.
Ellie Filer bested all players by shooting an 88 to earn a three-stroke victory over River Valley's Maren Dunlap.
Altoona improved to 6-4.
The Lady Devils got a 99 performance from Maddie Dumm.

Tigers win titles
Hollidaysburg won both the boys and girls team titles in the Operation Our Town Student Golf Tournament at Park Hills Golf Club on Monday.
The event drew 46 teams from 29 school districts.
The Hollidaysburg boys shot a 12-under-par 58, while the Lady Tigers finished with a 3-under-par 67.
