PATTON — Back in black, with apologies to a famous rock band, AC/DC.

Cambria Heights broke out the all-black jerseys as part of their senior night and rolled to a 42-7 victory against Homer-Center in a Heritage Conference game for both schools at AmeriServ Field at Cambria Heights Stadium on Friday night.

“I let the seniors pick and they wanted to wear the black jerseys. Credit them. They like these jerseys, and it turned out well for us tonight,” Highlanders coach Jarrod Lewis said.

Cambria Heights wore the all-black uniforms for the first time on Oct. 3 against Portage.

Play of the game: A low snap rolled past Homer-Center punter Brady Frazer, preventing him from launching a punt. Cambria Heights took over the Homer-Center 13, and Dawson Warner scored his second touchdown of the night from the 4 to pad the Highlanders lead, 21-7.

Player of the game: Cambria Heights sophomore Nolan Clawson rushed for 126 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Unsung heroes: Seniors Warner, Kaiden Ivory, Carson Wilkie, Carson Lobick, James Holtz and Hayden Leamer played their final regular-season home games.

Most vital statistics: Cambria Heights picked up 401 total yards, achieved 15 first downs and limited Homer-Center to 42 total yards after the Wildcats’ opening touchdown drive.

Cambria Heights coach Jarrod Lewis: “In a game like this, you want to send out the seniors the right way. And I thought our seniors did a great job. They’ve led us all season. They’ve done a great job. They’re first class all the way.”

More Lewis: Gabe Cobaugh scored the first touchdown of the night, a 3-yard scoring run that gave Homer-Center its only lead of the night. “They came out and had a good game plan early on. And then I thought we settled in and started playing a little bit better football,” Lewis said.

Homer-Center coach Greg Page: “Sometimes you hate scoring so fast. It was a great drive. We took it to them. But they took it to us the rest of the game.”

Notable: Dawson scored two 4-yard touchdowns. He has scored 12 touchdowns this season to date. … Brayden DeArmitt scored the Highlanders’ first touchdown, a 70-yard run. He finished the night with 90 rushing yards. … Carson Lobick caught three passes, and scored two touchdowns. He caught a 25-yard touchdown reception from Ivory just before halftime and a 49-yard interception with 7:04 left in the third period. The duration of the game was played under the mercy rule. … Cambria Heights did not turn the ball over. … Ivory completed 6 of 10 passes for 102 yards. … Cambria Heights limited quarterback Carson Arone to 32 passing yards (6 for 12 with one interception) and 21 rushing yards.

Records: Homer-Center (6-3), Cambria Heights (8-1).

Next week: Homer-Center hosts Portage, and Cambria Heights finishes the regular season at West Shamokin on Friday.
