HERSHEY — The Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School football team once again reigns supreme.
The Marauders held off Redbank Valley, 21-14, to earn the PIAA Class 1A championship Thursday afternoon at Hersheypark Stadium.
It was BG’s fourth state championship in football and first since winning three straight from 2014-16.
Guilfoyle did not trail in the game and led 7-0 at halftime on a short touchdown run by Karson Kiesewetter.
BG upped its lead to 14-7 when Kiesewetter hit a pop pass to Anthony Cioffari for a touchdown in the third quarter and then finished off the scoring on Cooper Rother’s fourth-quarter TD run.
The Marauders finished the season with an 11-4 record. Redbank Valley, playing in its first PIAA title game, closed at 13-2.
