Wrestling fans have a week to engage in their second-favorite pastime — poring over brackets and debating matchups for the NCAA tournament.

The NCAA announced Wednesday evening the seeds and pairings for the 330-man field of the 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships scheduled for March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.

Ten Penn State Nittany Lions learned their places in the bracket, first-round matchups and potential paths to the top of the podium.

With seven No. 1 seeds, Penn State has set what is believed to be the record for top seeds from one team in the same tournament.

Sophomore 125-pounder Luke Lilledahl (20-0), fresh off his second Big Ten title, was seeded first again as he attempts to improve on his third-place finish in 2025. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Mack Mauger (22-14) of Missouri and No. 33 seed Jace Schafer (23-8) of Bloomsburg.

Freshman Marcus Blaze (21-1) was seeded third at 133 pounds after his runner-up finish in the Big Ten tournament. He is paired with No. 30 seed Gabe Whisenhunt (9-8) of Oregon State.

Junior 141-pounder Braeden Davis (12-5) earned his third trip to nationals after placing seventh in the Big Ten tourney. He’ll try to improve on his fifth-place finish at 133 pounds a year ago as the No. 14 seed. He is paired with No. 19 seed Haiden Drury (21-9) of Utah Valley.

Junior 149-pounder Shayne Van Ness (21-0) is seeded first in his search for a third All-America honor and first championship. He has twice placed third, in 2025 and 2023. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Clayton Jones (11-15) of Michigan State and No. 33 seed Austin McBurney (21-13) of Brown.

Freshman P.J. Duke (19-1) earned the No. 1 seed after his major decision win over defending NCAA champion Antrell Taylor of Nebraska in the Big Ten 157-pound final. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Jeb Prechtel (18-14) of Bellarmine and No. 33 seed Yannis Charles (5-8) from Morgan State.

Junior 165-pounder Mitchell Mesenbrink (22-0), the defending NCAA champion and a two-time finalist, is seeded first for the second year in a row after winning his third Big Ten title. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Cody Walsh (27-13) of Drexel and No. 33 seed Ryan Vigil (14-9) from VMI.

Senior 174-pounder Levi Haines (21-0) is seeking his second NCAA championship and fourth All-America honor as the No. 1 seed. The four-time Big Ten champion placed third at 174 following a championship in 2024 at 157 and runner-up finish the year before. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Luke Condon (13-13) of Wisconsin and No. 33 seed Grant O’Dell (24-8) from Bellarmine.

Sophomore transfer Rocco Welsh (20-0) is seeded first after his Big Ten title. Welsh was an NCAA runner-up in 2024 at 174 pounds, losing 2-0 to Penn State’s Carter Starocci in the final. Welsh will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Caleb Uhlenhopp (16-14) of Utah Valley and No. 33 seed Sam Goin (12-8) from Indiana.

Fresh off his first Big Ten championship, sophomore Josh Barr (19-0) looks to improve on his NCAA runner-up finish in 2025 as the 2026 No. 1 seed. He will meet the winner of a pigtail bout between No. 32 seed Blake Schaffer (22-9) of Kent State and No. 33 seed Karson Tompkins (21-12) from Air Force

Redshirt freshman 285-pounder Cole Mirasola (17-6) earned his first NCAA berth after finishing fifth at the Big Ten tourney. Mirasola is seeded No. 9 and will meet No. 24 seed Connor Barket (23-7) from Duke.
