The 11th-seeded Penn State softball team begins postseason play today against the sixth-seeded Northwestern Wildcats in the opening round of the Big Ten Softball Tournament on the campus of the University of Maryland.

First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. with national television coverage to be provided by the Big Ten Network.

The Lady Lions were 32-20 this seeason and 11-13 in the Big Ten. Northwestern is 29-20 and went 16-8 in the conference.

The Lady Lions are led offensively by freshman Allison Oneacre, who leads the team in batting average (.383), home runs (18), RBIs (61) and OPS (1.332).
