PSU’s leadership, character will be challenged

Some nitpicking as Penn State gets ready to host an unhappy homecoming: - While there’s no question the Nittany Nation has seen enough of James Franklin, we’ll start to find out today and for the remainder of this season whether the players have, too — and whether Franklin has lost the ...

Nittany Lions stunned by Northwestern in third straight loss

UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State is in a dark place. The Nittany Lions were stunned by Northwestern, 22-21, Saturday at Beaver Stadium. The loss was their third straight after a 3-0 start. They sunk to 0-3 in the Big Ten and officially put an end to any College Football Playoff hopes. In ...

Mailbag: PSU program has peaked under Franklin

I’ve been saying for years James Franklin has taken Penn State football as far as he can. Little did I know it would be in reverse. Wiebusch and Ben Schoen to go with solo goals from Dane Dowiak and Tate Taylor. Penn State is off until next Friday when it hosts Long Island University at 7:30 p.m.

Yes, that really happened last weekend. I’m sure I’m not alone in still not quite believing what I saw. It really is that bad. In just a quick glance through the standings in the Power-4 conferences, UCLA may really be the worst team in any of them. But what happened is in the past. The ...

Penn State Mailbag: Lions were physically bullied

Sorting through the blue and white mailbag: Neil: I am home from the game, and I can’t believe what I just saw. Beyond the fact that they kept the wrong quarterback, and their coordinators can’t seem to get their games called correctly, I saw a team that was just beaten up. The biggest ...
