Big Ten gives Allen award

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State running back Kaytron Allen was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Allen, a senior, rushed for 226 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown in the win over Rutgers this past weekend. It was the most in a game since Larry Johnson’s 279 rushing yards against Michigan State in 2002. Allen has 15 rushing touchdowns this season. He has five games over 100 or more rushing yards as well. Career-wise, he sits fifth all-time at Penn State with 4,711 all-purpose yards. He ranks third all-time in both rushing touchdowns (39) and total touchdowns (43).
