UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State women’s basketball saw its record fall to 6-3 on the season Tuesday night, losing to an undefeated Arizona State squad, 74-60, in women’s collegiate basketball action inside the Jordan Center. The Lady Sun Devils, who trailed 18-13 after one quarter, improved to 11-0. Arizona State pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring the hosts, 20-4, for a 33-22 halftime lead. A 35-minute audio recording of a meeting with players prior to the Nittany Lions’ game with Rutgers (Nov. 29) was leaked late last week. Penn State’s bowl assignment was confirmed Sunday, and the Nittany Lions will match up with Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 27. It’s a noon kickoff for ABC. Like the Nittany Lions (6-6), Clemson was among the nation’s most disappointing teams.
