UNIVERSITY PARK — The introduction of new football coach Matt Campbell included an apology from Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft. A 35-minute audio recording of a meeting with players prior to the Nittany Lions’ game with Rutgers (Nov. 29) was leaked late last week. Penn State’s bowl assignment was confirmed Sunday, and the Nittany Lions will match up with Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 27. Iowa State turns down bowl on eve of Matt Campbell’s Penn State introduction

New Penn State football coach Matt Campbell arrived in State College with his family on Sunday and will be introduced today. His former program, however, is already feeling the void of his departure. Iowa State announced Sunday it is declining to participate in a bowl, a move that will cost the school $500,000, according to Big 12 rules. UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State wrestling team beat Lehigh, 36-6, in sold-out Rec Hall on Sunday afternoon. The Nittany Lions controlled the dual from start to finish and won eight of 10 bouts in front of more than 6,300 fans in Rec Hall. Nittany Lion sophomore Luke Lilledahl opened up the dual meet with a dominant performance at 125. Lilledahl downed Logan Wadle 17-2, getting the technical fall at 3:21 in the second period.
