Penn State women’s basketball remains winless in Big Ten with loss to Illinois
UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State women’s basketball team suffered its sixth-straight loss, 92-76, to Illinois at the Bryce Jordan Center Sunday afternoon.
The game marked the final scheduled game for the Lady Lions at the BJC in the 2025-26 season.
The Lady Lions fell to 7-10 overall and 0-6 in Big Ten play, while the Fighting Illini improved to 14-3 and 4-2.
Three Lady Lions finished the game in double figures, including redshirt junior center Gracie Merkle, who finished with a team-high 24 points. Sophomore guard Kiyomi McMiller added 19 points, while also tying her career-high with seven assists, and freshman Nyla McFadden scored 12 points in her first collegiate start.

LORETTO — Kadidia Toure came three assists short of a triple double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Long Island in a 77-61 win over Saint Francis Saturday in a college women’s basketball game at DeGol Arena.
Gemma Walker paced the Red Flash with 20 points, five rebounds, two steals, and an assist. Sonia Sato added eight points in the loss.
Saint Francis held a 14-8 lead with 62 seconds left in the first quarter before the Sharks went on a 29-11 run over the rest of the first half to take control of the game.

PSU Altoona rolls
The Penn State Altoona women’s basketball team overwhelmed Alfred State College, 77-57, on Saturday afternoon in Adler Arena.
Avana Sayles scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds for PSU Altoona (8-5, 3-1 AMCC). Jaidyn McCracken (Bellwood) contributed 16 points, and Lanie Wilt (Altoona) finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
