UNIVERSITY PARK -- The Penn State women's basketball team blew out Minnesota, 90-34, behind 23 points from Leilani Kapinus, in its final regular season game on Sunday at the Jordan Center.
The Lady Lions, who improved to 18-11 overall, will receive a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament. They will face Wisconsin in the second round at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Minneapolis with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals on Friday against Iowa.
Kapinus' third 20-plus point performance propelled Penn State to its largest margin of victory in a Big Ten game this season and lowest opponent point total since 2022.
The Lady Lions honored their five seniors prior to the game -- Makenna Marisa, Ashley Owusu, Tay Valladay, Chanaya Pinto and Ali Brigham.
Penn State, 9-9 in the Big Ten held Minnesota (15-14, 5-13 Big Ten) to 20% shooting from the field. PSU had a season-high 28 assists while dominating Minnesota in the paint 38-8. The Lady Lions also posted effective shooting from all ends of the court, posting 59.6% shooting from the field and 44.8% from 3-point range.
Owusu and Shay Ciezki each posted 15 points, and Pinto rounded out the double-digit point scorers with 10 points.
PSU's Alli Campbell (Bellwood-Antis graduate) was 1-of-2 from the field for three points and also had five rebounds and five assists in 17 minutes.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Saint Francis women's basketball team trailed by just three points after the first quarter on Saturday, but things fell apart from there as the Flash scored just two points in the second quarter en route to a 56-24 loss to Le Moyne in which they never scored in double digits in a quarter.
Kendall Carruthers led Saint Francis with 12 points. Lytoya and Haedyn Roberts each scored 16 points for Le Moyne, and Brianna Williams had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
