EVANSTON, Ill. - The Penn State men's basketball team took down Northwestern in overtime on Wednesday night in Welsh-Ryan Arena, 68-65.
Following a huge offensive rebound by Evan Mahaffey, Camren Wynter knocked down a corner 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining to elevate Penn State over Northwestern in overtime.
The triple was one of four on the night for Wynter, who finished the game with 24 points on 9-15 shooting to lead the Penn State squad.
The Nittany Lions improved to 18-12 overall and 9-10 in the league while the Wildcats fell to 20-10 overall and 11-8 in the league.
Andrew Funk and Seth Lundy eached knocked down four triples of their own for the Nittany Lions. Funk finished with 17 points and a season-high eight boards, while Lundy picked up 14 points, six rebounds, and a block.
Jalen Pickett etched his name into the Penn State record books once again, this time by surpassing Tim Frazier (2011-12) for the most assists in a single season in school history. Pickett finished with 11.
Penn State hosts Maryland Sunday at noon.
