Lady Lions thumped on the road
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Penn State women's basketball team fell to 11-6 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten with an 80-51 loss at Nebraska at Pinnacle Bank Arena Wednesday night.
Nebraska improved to 11-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
Makenna Marisa led Penn State with 14 points. On the defensive side Chanaya Pinto produced a career-high six steals.
Nebraska jumped ahead in the first half by 21 points, but with under four minutes to go, the Lady Lions went on a 11-0 run capped by a Shay Ciezki 3-pointer.
The Lady Lions did garner 10 steals and force 13 Nebraska turnovers, cashing in on those miscues for 15 points.
The Cornhuskers built their lead back up in the second half and maintained the advantage until the buzzer.
