Following is a preseason series on Penn State's position groups and a key player to watch from each:
POSITION: Offensive line
Player to watch: Malachi Goodman (No. 78)
Class: Redshirt freshman
Height/weight: 6-foot-6, 330 pounds
Career to this point: Redshirted in his true freshman season with the Lions last year.

FYI: Goodman was rated the No. 8 offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports in the class of 2025.
Others in the mix: Goodman is in a battle with Garrett Sexton (No. 71) and Owen Aliciene (No. 77) for the starting left tackle job. The rest of the offensive line will likely see PSU holdovers RT Anthony Donkoh (No. 68) and G Cooper Cousins (No. 50), Iowa State transfer G Trevor Buhr (No. 70), and Texas State transfer C Brock Riker (No. 51). He's not considered a candidate to see time yet, but Hollidaysburg's Hunter Albright (No. 76) transferred from Saint Francis.
