45 Nittany Lions land NFL roster spots
A total of 45 Penn State Football alums are populating the rosters of 24 National Football League organizations. The Nittany Lions annually rank among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL.
Penn State is one of three schools to produce at least five picks in each of the last eight NFL drafts and has 59 selections since 2016. Eight members of the 2024 squad are present on NFL rosters: Abdul Carter (New York Giants), Jalen Kimber (Buffalo Bills), Coziah Izzard (New Orleans Saints), Kobe King (Minnesota Vikings), Jaylen Reed (Houston Texans), Tyler Warren (Indianapolis Colts), Kevin Winston Jr. (Tennessee Titans) and Sal Wormley (Jacksonville Jaguars).
The Jacksonville Jaguars have the most former Nittany Lions on their roster with four. The Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers each have three.
In addition, four Penn State alums are serving on NFL coaching staffs: NaVorro Bowman (Los Angeles Chargers, linebackers coach), Jeff Carpenter (Los Angeles Chargers, Offensive Quality Control/tight ends coach), Bobby Engram (Washington Commanders, wide receivers coach) and Al Golden (Cincinnati Bengals, defensive coordinator).
