Three Nittany Lions named to Walter Camp list for college football

College digest

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State senior defensive tackle Zane Durant, redshirt junior offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane and senior running back Nicholas Singleton were named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation Preseason All-America team on Tuesday.

Durant and Singleton were named first-team and Ioane was tabbed second-team.

Walter Camp is the nation’s oldest college football All-America team. The Walter Camp Football Foundation was founded in 1967.

Penn State is tied with Alabama, Clemson, Indiana and Texas for the most players represented on the All-America teams.

Louis recognized

PITTSBURGH — Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis has been named to the Camp list as well on Tuesday.

The honor places Louis among the top players in the country heading into the 2025 college football season.

Louis is one of just three linebackers nationally–and one of only two ACC players–named to the first-team defense by the nation’s oldest college football All-America team. He’s joined on the list by standout linebackers Anthony Hill (Texas) and Taurean York (Texas A&M).

A redshirt junior, Louis is coming off a breakout 2024 season in which he led Pitt in sacks, tackles for loss, and interceptions, emerging as one of the ACC’s most disruptive defenders. His speed, instincts, and versatility helped anchor a Pitt defense that ranked among the league’s best, earning him multiple All-America and All-ACC accolades following the season.

The Walter Camp All-America Team is selected by FBS head coaches and sports information directors and has been a staple of the college football landscape since the first team was named in 1889.

The 2025 season marks the 136th edition of the team, continuing a rich legacy of honoring the game’s best.

Louis is Pitt’s first Walter Camp Preseason First Team All-American since 2022 and adds to a growing list of accolades for the Panthers ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Starting at $2.99/week.
