Penn State Altoona baseball’s Alex Hlivia receives academic honor

Penn State Altoona baseball senior middle infielder Alex Hlivia was named to the College Sports Communicators’ NCAA Division III Academic All-District team for the third consecutive year.
Hlivia, who graduated in May with a degree in Kinesiology, started 36 games for the Lions during the 2025 season. He hit .286 while ranking 10th in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in stolen bases (10), 18th in walks (17), 26th in on-base percentage (.411), and 34th in runs scored (26). With the glove, Hlivia helped turn the sixth-most double plays (14) and recorded the 10th-most assists (65) of any fielder in the conference.
