PSU men’s basketball player Yanic Konan Niederhauser invited to NBA Combine

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State men’s basketball player Yanic Konan Niederhauser was invited to this week’s NBA Combine following a strong performance in the G League Elite Camp this past weekend.

Konan Niederhauser, who recently completed his junior season at Penn State, declared for the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility with an intent to return to Penn State in early April.

The 2025 NBA Combine will take place at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago this week.

Konan Niederhauser impressed at the G League Elite Camp this past weekend in Chicago, averaging 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 82.4 percent (14-17) from the field over two games Saturday and Sunday. He is one of a select few players whose G League Elite Camp performance earned him an invitation to participate in the NBA Combine.

He wrapped up the 2024-25 season at Penn State averaging 12.9 points and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game, in addition to a Big Ten-best mark of 2.31 blocks per game that ranked 12th amongst Division I players. Konan Niederhauser also led the Nittany Lions with a 61.1 field goal percentage this season.

The Switzerland native tallied 19 double-digit scoring efforts, four double-doubles and three 20-plus point games in his first season in Happy Valley.

Konan Niederhauser transferred to Penn State ahead of the 2024-25 season and enjoyed immediate development under the Nittany Lion staff, seeing jumps of +7.8 points per game, +3.1 rebounds per game and +9.7 FG% in his first season in the Blue & White compared to his career average through his two years at Northern Illinois.

He is the first Nittany Lion to go to the Combine since current NBA players and Penn State alumni Jalen Pickett and Seth Lundy were invited.
