PSU’s Kling enjoys big weekend

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Penn State baseball team finished off a three-game sweep at Longwood with a 15-7 win on Sunday at VMI’s Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium, and Central High School graduate Paxton Kling played a key role in the three wins.
On Sunday, Kling, a junior transfer from LSU, set the tone with a leadoff homer among his three hits.
On Saturday, Kling went 2-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs in an 11-1 victory in eight innings, and later Saturday, he went 2-for-3 with another homer.
For the three games, Kling went 7-for-13 with four homers and six RBIs.
Penn State improved to 5-1 this season. Kling is hitting .440 (11-for-25) with five home runs, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.
Penn State will head to Virginia next weekend to face Richmond on Friday, VCU on Saturday and William & Mary on Sunday.
