Penn State Nittany Lions backup quarterback Beau Pribula announced on Sunday he is transferring to Missouri.
He reportedly chose the Tigers over Iowa, according to reports.
Pribula announced his intention to enter the NCAA's transfer portal last week.
"The current NCAA postseason model creates a challenge for student-athletes," Pribula wrote. "The overlapping CFB Playoff & transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision. After speaking at length with my family and coaches, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my intentions to enter the transfer portal and depart from the team to explore opportunities elsewhere."
The transfer was being reported by CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz. Pribula chose Missouri after taking visits to Ole Miss, Iowa and UCF. He was planning on visiting Indiana but cancelled the trip.
Pribula, a dual-threat quarterback from York, has been the backup to Drew Allar in the two seasons he's played at Penn State. He completed 26 of 35 passes for 275 yards, five touchdowns and an interception this season. On the ground, he also found the end zone for four rushing touchdowns.
Pribula brings some answers to a quarterback room that held a lot of questions. After graduate quarterback Brady Cook plays for the Tigers in the Music City Bowl against Iowa, Missouri will need a new face to its program.
Graduate quarterback Drew Pyne backed up Cook this season, but saw limited playing time. Redshirt freshman Sam Horn missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, leaving uncertainty about how quickly he can return to form next season. Missouri's promising recruit, signal caller Matt Zollers, is recovering from an ankle injury he sustained during his senior season and will likely need a year to adjust to the college system.
