MADISON, Wis. -- Following are the highlights and lowlights from Penn State's 28-13 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday night at Camp Randall Stadium.
Play of the game: Facing third-and-14 from the Badgers' 8, Wisconsin's Braedyn Locke threw over the middle and was intercepted by PSU safety Jaylen Reed, who returned it 19 yards for a touchdown with 6:29 left in the third quarter to give the Nittany Lions a 14-10 lead.
Offensive player of the game: Beau Pribula entered after halftime for an injured Drew Allar and completed 11-of-13 for 98 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed six times for 28 yards.
Defensive player of the game: In addition to his interception, Reed made five tackles, including one for loss.
Most telling statistic: Penn State held Wisconsin to 81 yards rushing.
Most deceiving statistic: The Lions had four pre-snap penalties plus an unsportsmanlike.
Hidden statistic: Of PSU's 419 total yards, 246 came on first down.
Best run: On third-and-1 from the Wisconsin 26, leading 21-13 with four minutes left, Pribula won a race to the edge to convert a key first down. A play later, the Lions punched in a TD to go up 28-13.
Best pass: Locke hit CJ Williams up the right sideline for 33 yards in the third quarter.
Worst pass: Locke offered a few, but besides the play of the game, he had a wide-open Jackson Acker in the end zone late in the first half, but misfired, keeping the PSU lead at 7-3.
Best catch: Nick Singleton reeled in a contested one-handed 6-yard touchdown from Allar early in the second quarter to put the Lions up 7-3.
Catch it, will ya: Julian Fleming dropped a sure touchdown, with no one near him, in the first quarter.
Hold it, won't ya: Allar fumbled a fourth-and-1 at the Wisconsin 28 in the first quarter, and the Badgers recovered, ending a promising a drive. Pribula also fumbled in the third quarter but recovered it.
Best block: Tyler Warren sealed the edge on Kaytron Allen's 24-yard touchdown with 3:10 remaining.
Best tackle: Tony Rojas prevented Vinny Anthony from getting a UW first down near midfield in the second quarter, forcing a punt.
Best hit: PSU's Dom DeLuca lit up Wisconsin punter Atticus Bertrams but not before the play gained a first down.
Best kick: Badger placekicker Nathaniel Vakos nailed a 50-yard field goal to open the scoring.
Best call: On third-and-goal from the Wisconsin 1, PSU released backup tight end Khalil Dinkins, and Pribula found him for a 1-yard touchdown and a 21-13 lead with 10:01 remaining.
Worst call(s): Down 14-10 at the PSU 19 in the third quarter, Luke Fickell went up the middle twice and then threw a short pass, settling for a field goal that cut the Lions' lead to 14-13. No guts, no glory.
Worst penalty: Down 10-7, on fourth-and-2 from the Wisconsin 39 early in the third quarter, Vega Ioane jumped for a false start. Penn State then punted.
Best effort: Lion safety Zakee Wheatley made 10 tackles, including eight solos.
Unsung hero: Trey Wallace made five catches, matching his season high, for 67 yards.
