Beamon, Ellies staying at PSU

Two regulars on Penn State's defensive line are returning for their sixth season of eligibility.

Hakeem Beamon confirmed Friday on Twitter that he'll join DVon Ellies, who announced Wednesday that he'll be back for the 2024 season.

With all-Big Ten defensive ends Chop Robinson and Adisa Isaac leaving for the NFL, Beamon and Ellies will provide leadership to a nucleus that includes Zane Durant, Zuriah Fisher and Dani Dennis-Sutton.

Beamon (6-3, 290 pounds) has started 17 career games, including six last season. He played 49 snaps in the Peach Bowl.

Ellies made 14 tackles in 13 games in 2023.

In other PSU player news, backup running back Trey Potts of Williamsport announced he's entering the NFL Draft.
