Warren returning to Penn State

2 min read

In a surprise move to some, Penn State tight end Tyler Warren announced on Instagram on Friday evening that he will play in the Peach Bowl and return to the team next season.

It wasn't nearly as much of a shocker that offensive tackle Olu Fashanu and cornerback Daequan Hardy both will declare for the NFL Draft.

Warren was primarily a short-yardage and goal line threat for the Lions, catching 29 passes for 295 yards and seven touchdowns. Another PSU tight end in Theo Johnson decided to go pro earlier this month.

"We've done some great things as a family, but I do believe the best is yet to come," Warren said.

Fashanu would have likely been a first round pick in last year's draft had he not decided to return to school. One year later, he's still projected to be a first round pick, even though his plans for the Peach Bowl one week from today remain uncertain. Fashanu said in his statement that he is 'looking forward to spending time with my teammates and coaches in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl.'

"I am forever grateful that I made the decision to come back and compete with my brothers one last time while also graduating," Fashanu said.

Hardy will play in the Peach Bowl next Saturday. He had two interceptions and seven pass break-ups this season.

"This place will forever be etched in my heart," Hardy said.
