DE Robinson heads to NFL

1 min read

Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson announced on X on Tuesday that he is opting out of the Peach Bowl and entering his name in next April's NFL Draft.

"From one dream to the next, I am excited to continue this next chapter," Robinson said.

Robinson, who transferred from Maryland to Penn State before the 2022 season, was a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and the media last week. He had 15 tackles (12 solo), four sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and five QB hurries in 10 games. He was also an All-Big Ten honorable mention pick in 2022.

Robinson is currently projected as a first-round pick by many NFL scouts, with ESPN's Mel Kiper ranking him as the No. 4 outside linebacker and the seventh-best edge rusher. PSU offensive tackle Olu Fashanu and cornerback Kalen King are also possible first-round picks.

The Nittany Lions will play Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 30 at noon from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
