UNIVERSITY PARK -- Penn State offensive tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu was selected Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year to headline 12 Penn State offensive players garnering All-Big Ten honors on Wednesday.
Fashanu was named first-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and media.
Fashanu is Penn State's second Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year joining A.Q Shipley (2008). Fashanu became Penn State's 38th major award winner for conference awards and the 12th in the James Franklin era.
Joining Fashanu as All-Big Ten selections were RB Kaytron Allen (second team), OL Hunter Nourzad (second team), RB Nicholas Singleton (third team), TE Tyler Warren (third team), QB Drew Allar (honorable mention), OL Olaivavega Ioane (honorable mention), TE Theo Johnson (honorable mention), WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith (honorable mention), OL JB Nelson (honorable mention), OL Caedan Wallace (honorable mention) and OL Sal Wormley (honorable mention).
With 12 offensive, 13 defense and four special teams selections, Penn State has 29 All-Big Ten selections this season.
For the rest of the Big Ten, Northwestern's David Braun was named coach of the year and eight Michigan players made the All-Big Ten first team picked in a vote of the coaches.
Offensive player of the year is Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., defensive player of the year is Illinois defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton and freshman of the year is Purdue defensive back Dillon Thieneman.
The Michigan players on the first team are quarterback J.J. McCarthy, running back Blake Corum, center Drake Nugent, offensive linemen Zak Zinter and LaDarius Henderson, tight end Colston Loveland, defensive lineman Mason Graham and defensive back Will Johnson.
Iowa, the Wolverines' opponent in the conference championship game this Saturday, occupies four spots on the first team: linebacker Jay Higgins, punter Tory Taylor and Cooper DeJean at both defensive back and return specialist.
Braun was hired as Northwestern's defensive coordinator last January and began the season as interim coach following the firing of Pat Fitzgerald in the wake of a hazing scandal.
