Bad day for Happy Valley
SYRACUSE -- The Happy Valley Hoopers were eliminated from The Basketball Tournament on Monday, falling to the Nerd Team, 54-49, in the opening round.
Happy Valley led, 46-44, at the end of the fourth quarter. In the Elam Ending, Happy Valley was outscored, 10-3.
Happy Valley is comprised of former Penn State men's basketball team players. The Nerd team is made up of players from Ivy League schools.
Penn State was led by Sam Sessoms' 28 points. The next closest teammate to contribute was Myles Dread with six points.
The Nerd team, which led 26-20 at halftime, was led by Prentiss Hubb with 16 points. Teammate Raiquan Clark added 11 points.
