UNIVERSITY PARK -- The Big Ten Conference announced single-play and double-play opponents Tuesday for the 2023-24 Penn State men's basketball season.
The Nittany Lions will face seven double-play opponents and six single-play opponents in the 20-game Big Ten men's basketball slate.
Penn State will play both home and away games against Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Maryland, Minnesota, Northwestern and Ohio State. Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin will each visit Happy Valley as Penn State's home-only opponents. Away games for single-play opponents send Penn State to Nebraska, Rutgers and Purdue.
Dates, television network assignments and tipoff times for the Big Ten contests will be announced later this year.

n A dozen current Penn State Nittany Lions wrestlers or members of Penn State's Olympic Regional Training Center will compete in the 2023 U.S. Open in Las Vegas on Thursday and Friday.
The U.S. Open helps finalize the field for the 2023 United States World Team Trials on June 10 in New York City.
Current Nittany Lions Beau Bartlett, Aaron Brooks, Tim Levine and Carter Starocci will compete in the senior men's freestyle tournament along with Olympic RTC/NLWC teammates Ceron Francisco, Nick Lee, Morgan McIntosh, Jason Nolf and Josh Rodriguez. The senior freestyle tournament is set for Thursday and Friday.
Nittany Lions Jack Kelly and Connor Pierce will compete in the U20 Freestyle bracket on Saturday and Sunday. Jennifer Page represents the RTC/NLWC in the senior women's freestyle tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Former Nittany Lion greats Vincenzo Joseph and Mark Hall are also competing.
n Penn State Altoona sophomore pitcher Madison Peters was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Pitcher of the Week in softball.
Peters went 3-0 last week for the Lions, who posted doubleheader sweeps of AMCC opponents La Roche and Hilbert.
On the week, Peters was 3-0 with a 0.50 earned run average. She pitched 14 innings and allowed only four hits and one run while issuing no walks and 16 strikeouts.
Peters currently leads the AMCC in wins (10) while ranking second in complete games (12), innings pitched (86.2), and strikeouts (69), third in ERA (2.67), fourth in strikeouts per game (5.57), and fifth in opponent batting average (.251).
In other sports, the men's tennis team had six different Lions voted on the second team of the AMCC's all-conference squad.
Making the team were sophomores Casey Hess, Parth Raval, Ethan Schneider and Joey Toth, along with freshmen Nick Beard and Emmett Hibbs.
