PITTSBURGH -- Elandon Roberts is back in Pittsburgh.
The Steelers signed the veteran linebacker to a one-year deal on Thursday, reuniting him with the club he spent two seasons with in 2023 and 2024.
The 32-year-old Roberts had been a free agent after playing for the Las Vegas Raiders last season.
Roberts has 694 tackles, with 14.5 sacks and one interception during his 10-year career. He won a pair of Super Bowls with New England in 2016 and 2018 before moving on to Miami and then Pittsburgh.
Roberts, whom former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin described as a "tooth chipper" for his physical style of play against the run, started 29 games across his two seasons in Pittsburgh. He joins an inside linebacker group that includes Patrick Queen, Payton Wilson and Cole Holcomb.
Puka hurting
LOS ANGELES -- All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua is expected to return to practice next week with the Los Angeles Rams after sitting out Thursday's workout with muscle soreness.
Nacua was hurt during the Rams' joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday, leaving the field early. He worked out on the side Thursday while the Rams held their final practice before traveling to Kansas City for their preseason opener against the Chiefs on Saturday.
Head coach Sean McVay said Nacua felt the soreness in his psoas -- a muscle that runs from the back through the pelvis to the legs.
Nacua is heading into his fourth season with the Rams in the final year of his rookie contract, but he has been a full participant in training camp and preseason workouts. The two-time Pro Bowl selection led the NFL with 129 receptions last season and ranked second with 1,715 yards receiving.
Ravens returning?
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens cornerbacks Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey could return next week from injuries they suffered in training camp this week, coach Jesse Minter said after Thursday's practice.
Wiggins was carted off the field with a left leg injury midway through Tuesday's practice. Humphrey walked off under his own power during Wednesday's session with an undisclosed issue.
Given how serious it initially appeared, the update on Wiggins -- currently considered Baltimore's best cover corner -- is a particular relief for a defense that finished last season tied for second-to-last in the NFL against the pass.
Seattle looking at Arnold
RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks and cornerback Terrion Arnold are working on a contract.
That's according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because the contract hasn't been finalized. Arnold is facing eight felony charges stemming from allegations he orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men in February.
He became a free agent in late June after the Detroit Lions released him.
