2026 Steelers schedule to be released on Thursday
Steelers Notes
PITTSBURGH — The NFL will release its complete regular-season schedule at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The Steelers’ complete schedule will be released on all of the Steelers’ digital and social platforms.
In addition, the NFL will host a 2026 NFL Schedule Release Show, which will be simulcast on NFL Network and ESPN2.
At home, the Steelers will play the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns in the AFC North, in addition to the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.
On the road, the Steelers will face Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland, as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans.
The league already has announced that the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will meet in Melbourne, Australia, in Week 1. The game will be aired in prime time in the United States at 8:35 p.m. ET on Sept. 10.
The game between the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro will take place in Week 3 (Sept. 27).
The other seven international matchups will be announced at 9 a.m. Wednesday on “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network.
Dates for other key games are expected to filter out during the week. Typically, networks announce one of their showcase games during so-called up-fronts to advertisers.
The Seattle Seahawks will begin defense of their Super Bowl title in the kickoff game on Sept. 9. The opponent has not been announced.
The NFL could opt for an immediate Super Bowl 60 rematch since New England is scheduled to visit Seattle. Last season, the Super Bowl 59 rematch between Philadelphia and Kansas City took place in Week 2.
Other likely possibilities include Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas or the Los Angeles Chargers.
Draft picks signed
The Steelers signed three draft picks on Friday — receiver Kaden Wetjen, defensive end Gabriel Rubio and safety Robert Spears-Jennings — to four-year contracts.
Wetjen, the team’s fourth-round pick who played at Iowa, was selected with the 121st overall pick.
Wetjen started seven of the 40 games he appeared in for Iowa. He had 23 receptions for 197 yards and one touchdown over three seasons.
He also shined as a punt returner, with 954 return yards, a 17.7-yard average, and four touchdowns. He also returned 56 kickoffs for 1,538 yards, a 27.5-yard average, and two touchdowns.
Rubio, the team’s sixth-round pick who played at Notre Dame, was selected with the 210th overall pick.
Rubio played in six games in 2025, starting five, but missed the final six due to injury.
He appeared in 39 career games for the Fighting Irish, starting eight.
Spears-Jennings, one of the team’s seventh-round picks who played at Oklahoma, was selected with the 224th overall pick.
In four seasons he appeared in 47 games for Oklahoma. He played in all 13 games in 2025, starting the final 12 games.
