Steelers reportedly close to hiring defensive coordinator
PITTSBURGH — According to several media outlets, including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are close to signing Patrick Graham as their defensive coordinator.
Graham, 47, would be the first major hire to new coach Mike McCarthy’s staff.
Graham was the defensive coordinator the past three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he also served in that role with the Miami Dolphins in 2019 and New York Giants in 2020 and 2021. He was the linebackers coach/run game coordinator on McCarthy’s staff in Green Bay in 2018.
Former Buffalo Bills receivers coach Adam Henry, who was the receivers coach with McCarthy for a season in Dallas, also confirmed on social media he has been hired by the Steelers.
According to the Post-Gazette, McCarthy is expected to bring back three members of former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s staff — linebackers coach Scott McCurley, quarterbacks coach Tom Arth and secondary coach Gerald Alexander.
