Sports at a glance
The Pittsburgh Pirates announced the opening of Legacy Hall this week, a new event and meeting space showcasing the largest display of Pirates memorabilia at PNC Park.
Legacy Hall is a multi-use space located next to the left field entrance along Federal Street at the Willie Stargell statue. The space will now be available for family events, corporate meetings, networking events, and more, with capacity up to 150 guests.
The hall also will be open to all ticketed fans each game day and accessible once inside the ballpark, provided the space is not reserved for a private event.
The collection includes historical items from the Pirates, in addition to loaned pieces from Denny Heindl, a Ridgway resident and limited partner of the Pirates since 1997.
Reaves gets $185M deal
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Austin Reaves is re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers on a four-year contract worth $185 million, a person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal is not yet official for Reaves, who cements his status as one of the most successful undrafted players in NBA history with this contract. Reaves is declining his $14.9 million player option for the upcoming season to ink this extension with the team that signed him out of Oklahoma after the draft in 2021.
The 28-year-old out of Oklahoma averaged 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds last season.
