Triolo earns Gold Glove

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s Jared Triolo was named the winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award Sunday night for National League utility players.

The 26-year-old Triolo was Pittsburgh’s opening day starter at second base in 2024, where he accumulated a total of six defensive runs saved in 374.2 innings at that position last season according to FanGraphs.

Triolo also recorded two defensive runs saved in 527.0 innings as a third baseman in 2024 per FanGraphs.

Triolo saw action at a total of five different positions in 2024, making 61 appearances (60 starts) at third base, 47 appearances (42 starts) at second base, nine appearances (eight starts) at shortstop, nine appearances (four starts) at first base and one appearance in right field.

Triolo is the third NL player to take home a Gold Glove since utility players began receiving the award in 2022.
