Solid start for Bucs' pitcher
BRADENTON, Fla. - Starter Chase Anderson pitched three shutout innings, retiring all nine batters he faced, in helping the Pittsburgh Pirates down Atlanta, 5-1, in Grapefruit League action Tuesday.
Anderson has tossed seven shutout innings for the Pirates (7-10-1) this spring. Ryan Borucki and Wily Peralta each tossed a 1-2-3 shutout inning in relief for the Pirates.
Oneil Cruz led off the bottom of the first with his fourth homer of the spring, and he has homered in three straight games. Teammate Billy McKinney hit a three-run homer, and has reached base safely in all 12 of his games this spring. Jack Suwinski added a double and a home run for the Pirates.
