The 26-year-old Hayes led all third basemen in MLB this season with 21 defensive runs saved.

Hayes also led all third basemen in both fielding run value (13) and outs above average (17).

Hayes is the first Pirates third baseman to take home a Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

No Garcia option

Left-hander Jarlín García's $3.25 million team option was declined by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
