Sports at a glance: Serena, Venus Williams teaming up at Wimbledon
Serena and Venus Williams are bringing their doubles partnership back at Wimbledon.
The All England Club announced a doubles wild card invitation for the Williams sisters to the tournament which starts in less than two weeks. The move comes after 44-year-old Serena recently returned to competition after nearly four years away from professional tennis.
Venus has still been competing sporadically and turns 46 today.
The Williams sisters won 14 Grand Slam titles together in doubles, including six at Wimbledon. Their last title together at Wimbledon came a decade ago and the first came more than a quarter century ago.
Lyles sets 150 record
Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles set the world best time in the rarely contested 150 meters at the Golden Spike meet on Tuesday.
The U.S. sprinter clocked 14.67 seconds to beat a field of runners, including Australia’s teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout.
