The Denver Broncos’ offseason is no longer muted.
The Broncos are acquiring standout wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a blockbuster deal that sends three draft picks to the Miami Dolphins, including a first-rounder, two people with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
The Dolphins will receive the 30th-overall pick in next month’s NFL draft along with picks in the third and fourth rounds. Denver will get Miami’s fourth-rounder along with Waddle. Overall, the Dolphins will have 11 picks over seven rounds.
The Broncos were the only team not to sign a free agent outside of retaining their own players before making this deal.
Waddle gives Bo Nix another main playmaker along with Courtland Sutton, boosting a passing offense that finished 11th in the NFL last season.
Waddle’s arrival will give the Broncos a bona fide top wide receiving duo for the first time since the late Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, who helped propel Denver to a Super Bowl championship a decade ago.
The Broncos were the AFC’s No. 1 seed last season but lost to New England in the snowy AFC championship game without Nix, who broke his ankle in a game against Buffalo in the divisional round.
Waddle, a first-round pick in 2021, had three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons to begin his career but hasn’t reached that total since 2023. Overall, Waddle has 373 receptions for 5,039 yards and 26 TDs.
On to Philly
Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed on a one-year deal, a person with knowledge of the contract told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
Brown, a 2019 first-round pick by Baltimore, had 49 catches for 587 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Chiefs. He joins a star-studded offense that features quarterback Jalen Hurts, 2024 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, who is returning on a one-year contract.
Brown’s best season came in 2021 with the Ravens. He had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six TDs.
Brown, who turns 29 in June, has 371 catches for 4,322 yards and 33 TDs in seven seasons with Baltimore, Arizona and Kansas City.

n The Atlanta Falcons have finalized contracts with three veteran defensive players to boost their depth on that side of the ball.
They signed free agent defensive ends Samson Ebukam and Azeez Ojulari and defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand. Ebukam and Ojulari ought to give the Falcons depth at the edge rusher spots in light of the uncertainty surrounding James Pearce Jr. Ebukam spent the last three years with the Indianapolis Colts.
Ojulari was limited to three games last season with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hand made a career-high 13 starts last season for the Los Angeles Chargers.
