Imler’s, Cumming open AAABA nationals today

JOHNSTOWN — Altoona AAABA teams Imler’s Poultry and Cumming Motors open play in the AAABA National Tournament with noon games today. Imler’s, the Altoona league champion, will play Zanesville at Roxbury, while Cumming, the Altoona league runner-up, faces Brooklyn at Portage. Imler’s is in Pool B with Johnstown champion Mainline Pharmacy, Buffalo, Cleveland, New York, Schenectady, Younstown and Zanesville. Lilly Conrad Chiropractic swept its best-of-three semifinal series with Blair County Oil with a 10-4 victory Saturday at Vets Field in the Altoona Greater City Baseball League. Blair County Oil jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning, but Lilly pitcher Aiden Coleman closed the door the rest of the way.
