State offers two days for free fishing

Fish for Free days will be held this summer, set for May 24 and July 4. These days are valid for residents and non-residents, though all other fishing regulations and seasons apply. Organizers believe these two days are perfect for families and new anglers to experience fishing.

PINEDALE, Wyo. — A judge in Wyoming sentenced a man to 18 months of probation for hitting a wolf with a snowmobile before taping the wounded animal’s mouth shut, bringing the creature into a rural bar, then killing it. Lavery also fined Roberts $1,000 and ordered him not drink alcohol, enter a bar or liquor store, nor hunt or fish while on probation. Roberts told Lavery at his change-of-plea hearing in ...

In the Lower Peninsula, hunters would need a special license to kill any bucks. Currently, hunters in Michigan can kill two antlered deer per season, ...

Now, tribe officials say the state is ending its support, potentially causing salmon restoration efforts on the McCloud River to die mid-stream. The tribe is now grappling with the sudden loss of jobs, along with the dimming of hope that the culturally sacred fish will be restored to their ancestral waters. “It ...
